The purpose of Formula 5 is to address all of these issues with modern tournament paintball…
- Game playing time must be longer…
In F5, Each team is guaranteed at least 15 minutes per game, and at least 4 games a day. - Costs of playing have to come down…
Costs for playing are to be max £350 per team, bring your own paint, and each team can rotate amongst 20 players. - New people have to be attracted to the sport. If you are; not a good enough player, overweight, too old, too young, not fit enough you are not always wanted at many events…
F5 abandons the concept of rushing to shoot everyone on the field and covering lanes. The game lasts for a minimum time and there are penalties for having to go through the start gate. So if you run out of paint or gas, or go through the start gate, the other team gets points. Shooting all your paint as fast as you can is no longer in your interest. Furthermore, the breakout is no longer a game winner, it may give you an early advantage but it can be easily clawed back. - Formula 5 paintball will be more TV friendly…
This format is not about watching a guy behind a bunker or a guy diving into a snake, its about territory movement strategy. - Gun rules have become over the top and too regulated…
Gun rules will be less restrictive, safer and easier on judges. The rules are simple! Semi auto or ramp under 280fps. Ramping will be allowed up to 20bps, as using all your paint will not always be to your advantage! - Paintball currently has no stats, nothing to judge player performance…
There will be game statistics for all teams, showing eliminations, playing times and overall points. This information will be posted on this website, in the rankings section. - Locked divisions are a big problem in paintball…
In the first year of Formula5 all divisions will be randomly selected, this year’s results will determine the following year's seeding. In the next year there will be seeded groups in which players will play their own group as well as some teams from other groups.
